Today's deep theological question comes to you courtesy of Calvin Kimmel.

After listening to Mandisa's song with the line, "The joy of the Lord is for real, and they're never gonna steal my joy!" Cal Henry asked me why robbers can't steal our joy. "How big IS it?" he asked. This must be what Jesus meant when he said we need to be like the little children.

Jude was giving me the first grade update this afternoon when he had a "must turn macho" moment. The class is raising butterflies and releasing them, and Jude told me they let more go today.

He said, "The first time we did it, I kinda cried a little."

Touched by my son's tender heart, I said, "Were you sad to see them go, honey?"

Jude cleared his throat and replied, "Uh, um...no. The...uh...sun must have...um...gotten in my eye."

I just love the peanut gallery.
