Just Thinking Ahead...

Saturday morning the boys and I decided we needed to get out of the house, so we headed to the local pet store to check out all the interesting animals. We looked at the gerbils, hamsters, fish, birds, and I even let the boys walk over to the reptile area while I watched from a far. But the boys were really into the cats available for adoption. They each found one or two that they loved and were sure would be great for our family. The problem is that Mark is severely allergic to cats (which is fortunate because he completely hates cats and this gives him a reason to be so hostile towards them). Each time the boys would "choose" a cat, I would gently remind them that Daddy is allergic and we can't get a cat.

On the way out of the pet store, Jude got a very thoughtful look on his face. He looked up at me, and said, "Mama? If Daddy DIES, can we get a cat?"

After a moment of stunned silence, I shrugged and said, "Sure."

Ann,

Just give it time....they will wear him down and allergic or not -- he will get them a cat. See my post in February @ www.macandmateo.blogspot.com.

Love your blog by the way and am praying HARD for your health.
