I've been working on "feathering my nest" (see previous posts), and as a part of that I wanted to fix up the outside of our house a bit. For my birthday this spring, my dad came down and helped put in a beautiful flower bed out front and bordered in my front landscaping. Unfortunately, the purple and yellow pansies didn't make it through the summer. I finally hit the point where I needed to do something to fix it up! (When the green frog statues are the most living thing in the flower bed, it's time...) I also had a planter with the remnants of a few pansies and some weeds. (Why do the weeds grow but the pansies die?)
It may not be much, but it makes me happy to have some pretty flowers to look at as I pull in!
