Two Words For You.

STOMP. ROCKETS.
Mama got air. (Daddy got camera problems.)

The Big 0-6

We celebrated Jude's 6th birthday last weekend. We had a blast! We bowled in the morning and then enjoyed a great dinner at Texas Roadhouse followed by some cake and ice cream at home with friends. Nothing big and booming, but special and fun all the same.

Here are a few pictures of my birthday boy. (At Texas Roadhouse when it is your birthday they have you sit on a saddle and then everyone in the restaurant yells, "Yee-haw!" for you. Jude was ALL over that!)

We love you Jude!

Why, No Mary Lee...

...I have no idea who decorated your lawn for your birthday.
And those balloons in your minivan? I can't figure that one out either.
Over 1000 pieces of candy thrown all over your yard? I can't imagine who would do such a thing.
And the plastic forks stuck in the ground? Who would think of such a crazy idea?
I hope you catch those hooligans.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Is This Called "Foreshadowing"?

Tonight at dinner Calvin wanted to review everyone's future position in our family. Now he wasn't exactly accurate, but it made for some good conversation.

Cal pointed out that he was growing up and would be a daddy someday. He pointed to Mark and said, "And when you grow up, you're going to be a little boy."

Without looking up from his Popsicle, Jude corrected Cal.

"Nope", Jude said very matter-of-factly, "Daddy's just gonna die."

Ouch.

If I Was Scrapbooking...

...I would need to do a page for "Baby's First Shiner". Of course, Cal Henry is 3 1/2, not a baby, and let's face it - we made it a lot longer without a black eye than I ever anticipated we would!

Jude and Cal were playing baseball in the back yard (yeah, you know where this is heading, but I was feeling optimistic at the time...) and they decided to set the baseball on the T-ball stand and then BOTH swing at it at the same time to see who would actually make contact. Oh, Jude's bat made contact alright. With Calvin's right eye! It swelled nearly shut, turned red, and one part immediately went black and blue. It was something to see.

By the way, no one actually hit the baseball.

Ah, life with boys...
